(Reported by Qiuxiang, edited by Qingbao) Mr. William Tang, a Chinese-American writer currently living in Arizona, recently received a written notice from PEN Center USA on March 26, 2013, and was officially admitted as a professional member of PEN Center USA.
> Tang Xiaoxian Tang Xiaoxian has about 50 non-fiction works published in official newspapers and periodicals in the United States. Among them, the most famous work is the Chinese version of "Hemingway in Cuba". He translated the original English biography of the famous American writer and Nobel Prize winner Hemingway into Chinese. This book was written by Hilary Hemingway, Hemingway's niece, and photographer Karena Brennan. The book is filled with pictures and texts, introducing Hemingway's life and creation in Cuba, and also reveals the friendship between Hemingway and Castro for the first time. After the book came out, various countries competed to translate and publish it. The Chinese version of "Hemingway in Cuba" was published by Ningxia People's Publishing House in 2008. Tang Xiaoxian is one of the two translators. Tang Xiaoxian won this honor because of his unremitting creation for decades. PEN America has a cooperative relationship with the world-famous International PEN (headquartered in London, England). It is composed of more than 600 poets, fiction/non-fiction writers, essay writers, journalists, critics, translators, playwrights, film script writers, TV drama script writers, editors, etc. from all over the United States. It is headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA.
