Summer is approaching. When preparing for hot days, remember that everyone is at risk when the temperature exceeds 90 degrees. If appropriate measures are not taken to face hot weather, heat stroke, dehydration, heat stroke and heat cramps are all possible. Here are some basic summer safety tips: Wear: Wear loose, light, light-colored clothing. Light-colored clothing can reflect some heat and help maintain normal body temperature. Cover as much of the skin as possible to avoid sunburn and damage to the body caused by overheating. Wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your face from direct sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight: Stay in the shade as much as possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest times of the day, use parasols for shade, and have shade items such as tube tents in your car for emergencies. Drink water: Drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty. Carry water with you and avoid alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, which can dehydrate the body. Avoid using salt tablets unless directed by your doctor. Eat small, frequent meals and avoid high-protein foods as they increase metabolic heat. Avoid strenuous activity: If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the coolest time of day, usually between 4 and 7 a.m. Stay indoors as much as possible: If there is no air conditioning, stay on the lowest floor away from the sun. Remember that electric fans only help circulate air and do not cool you. Help others: Check in with your neighbors. Elderly people and others may not be as able to deal with the heat as you are. Take good care of your pets and make sure they are away from heat sources and have enough water and food. Learn first aid and CPR.
