TSMC Arizona Update: First Fab Is Running, Fab 2 Targets 2027 as the Buildout Grows

TSMC says its first Arizona fab began high-volume N4 production in Q4 2024, the second fab structure was completed in 2025, and N3 volume production is targeted for the second half of 2027.

As of April 2026, the clearest TSMC Arizona story is execution, not rumor. On its Arizona site, TSMC says the first Phoenix fab started high-volume N4 production in Q4 2024. The company also says the second fab structure was completed in 2025 and N3 volume production is targeted for the second half of 2027.

TSMC now describes the Phoenix campus as a much larger long-term buildout. Its Arizona page says the plan includes six wafer fabs, two advanced packaging facilities and an R&D team center. In a March 4, 2025 press release, TSMC said its total planned U.S. investment would reach $165 billion, with Arizona already employing more than 3,000 people.
