Gong Xinran (Amanda), a fourth-grade student at TARWATER Elementary School in Qiandele City, Arizona Gong) won the award in the Paws for Reading Scholastic Books Drawing/Photo Contest. Gong Xinran’s entry stood out from more than 20,000 entries across the United States and became the TOP TEN winner. Gong Xinran's entry is a charcoal sketch of a dog reading a kitten storybook. The image of the dog in the picture is vivid, the composition is concise, and the contrast between black and white is sharp. The picture of the dog reading is full of mystery like a fairy tale, and has romance and humor like a comic. It is a rare and good work.
Gong Xinran The prize for the painting competition organized by Scholastic is 200 exquisite picture books, 100 of which are given to Gong Xinran’s school, and the other 100 exquisite picture books are given to Gong Xinran’s personal collection. Gong Xinran’s award-winning paintings not only win honors for schools in Alberta, but are also the pride of Chinese students. Although Amanda Gong has only been studying painting with teacher Lin Xuan for one year, her wide range of hobbies in sports, dance, literature, etc. have given her good image observation and comprehension abilities. We congratulate Gong Xinran on her entry > TOP TEN winner from the United States. We also wish and look forward to Amanda Gong having more works for us to appreciate.
