Last month, Tempe passed a $1.5 million reduction in its public transport budget. The Tempe area will use the ASU free bus Orbit and light rail as the main public transportation facilities. Bus number 40 will be cancelled. Many citizens said they could understand the budget cuts. Some of these people even came up with more ideas. Some said Orbit charges appropriately and they can accept it, such as 50 cents per person. Some people also suggest that the number of buses can be appropriately reduced during winter and summer vacations and during student holidays. The transportation budget reduction plan lasts for three years in total, and it is only the second year now. The public transportation budget will also be significantly reduced in the next year.
