Mountain climbing, barbecue, guzheng singing - a snapshot of outdoor activities in Sedona on Mother's Day in the College of Science and Engineering (Report from the Phoenix Branch of the Science and Technology College) On the occasion of the annual warm Mother's Day, Yang Xia and Xu Qiang, the newly elected presidents of the Science and Technology College in 2012, planned and organized a large-scale outdoor activity, attracting many new and old members to participate. The content included activities such as mountain climbing, barbecue, guzheng appreciation, etc., allowing everyone to spend a healthy, happy and fulfilling day. Friends who participated in the event. On May 13, the weather was sunny, the clouds were clear, and the wind was clear. About thirty new and old members of the Science and Engineering College drove two hours to Sedona, a small town north of Phoenix. Going north along Highway 17, the surroundings were still a desert landscape at first. As the car gradually climbed higher, the vision suddenly opened up, the terrain became gentle, and pleasant green plants began to appear in the field of vision. When the car enters Highway 179, the unique red boulder landscape here begins to come into view. From here on, the red earth world of Sedona begins to show us the uncanny workmanship of nature. There were many scenic spots along the way, and we didn't have time to linger. We followed a mountain stream and drove along the tree-lined path beside the rocks in Red Rock State Park for a while. Finally, we met up with the climbing team. The place was already shaded by trees and cool and pleasant. As usual, we were the second echelon. After the main force went straight to the top of the mountain and disappeared without a trace, our group began to slowly move forward while enjoying the scenery. Sedona was once rated as the most beautiful place in the United States by USA Today. It seems difficult for us to understand the reason for such a high rating. However, Sedona does have its unusual natural features that attract many artists to move here. Looking around, the red rocks of different shapes seem to be enchanted monsters, frozen in time and space, left to be blown by the wind and the sun. There were unknown plants and flowers at our feet; as we moved forward, we walked into a place that had been burned by forest fires. The trunks of the trees had been burnt black and still pointed straight into the blue sky. We passed through the ruins of a civilization that seemed to have died. The top of the mountain was right in front of us, but it hung far away in the air. We retreated and returned to the pavilion at the foot of the mountain to wait for the return of the team that climbed to the top. Two little heroes who climbed to the top of the mountain. In the park at the foot of the mountain, many people were having barbecues and picnics, but our group was the largest. After a while, the smell of meat was overflowing in our place, and all kinds of delicacies were freshly baked. We were eating barbecue and drinking "Li Laoji herbal tea", which was very comfortable and comfortable. When Teacher He set up the guzheng and started playing it, the melody of colorful clouds chasing the moon flowed out in the mountains, attracting other people in the park to stop and enjoy it. It must be the first time for them to hear such a beautiful melody. For a moment, we had the illusion that we were suddenly in our hometown thousands of miles away. Various classic and nostalgic tunes danced and flowed between the teacher's fingers. Among the members, bel canto and national singer Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon showed off their singing voices. Sedona, we have been here many times, and this must be the only time that we can enjoy the guzheng music here, which is like big beads and small beads falling on a jade plate. Teacher He Ludi's graceful guzheng performance was on site. During the summer vacation, there are many exciting activities at the College of Science and Technology, including the mysterious farm tour. Everyone is welcome to participate.
