In order to raise the level of Chinese language teaching, and gradually establish a ‘training, assessment, certification,’ the China Overseas Exchange Association ( COEA ) will continue to sponsor the North American ‘Overseas Chinese Education Teacher Speaking Tour Group'(TSTG) to have teacher training in USA.

By CSAUS delegate, Tucson Chinese Schools, Tucson Mandarin Churches Chinese School, Tucson Chinese Cultural Center have held the Tucson Chinese language teacher training activities in TCCC since 2011. From the previous training, there were greater than thirty teachers complete the entire training and receive the certificate each year.

This year, COEA will send three teachers, Professor Yan Sui, Professor Long Cheng and Ms. Yingchun Zhang, to Tucson giving lectures and doing teacher training job on August 27. Tucson Chinese Schools, Tucson Mandarin Churches Chinese School, Tucson Chinese Cultural Center will continue to host this training activities in 2014. Notice of the matter is as follows:

A. Who could participate the training:

Chinese language teachers and the person who related to the Chinese culture, education in Tucson area are welcome to participate.

B. When and where the training activity take place:

When: August 27, 2014 Wednesday, 5:00pm-9:00pm ( Tucson Chinese Cultural Center will provide you meal)

Where: Tucson Chinese Cultural Center, 1288 W River Rd., Tucson, AZ 85704

C. The course content:

1. Basic of Chinese Linguistic Literature: Speaker – Associate Professor Dr. Yan Sui – Beijing Language and Culture University;

This lecture based on Specific examples from the pronunciation, Chinese language semantics, grammar combining these three aspects to explain. In order to solve the problems that teachers encountered in the teaching practice, Dr. Yan Sui will answer questions raised by the teachers.

2. Chinese Culture Topics: Speaker – Associate Professor Dr. Long Cheng – Beijing Language and Culture University

This presentation will describe intercultural communication — Method and practice of Chinese in the classroom. The lecture from the analysis of Chinese cultural perspective and method of performance, analysis of intercultural communication in Chinese classroom; the key to implement cross culture teaching; integration of culture teaching case, discuss how to deal with cultural differences arising from cross-cultural conflict.

3. The language teaching and demonstration teaching: Speaker – Senior Chinese Language Teacher Ms. Yingchun Zhang – Beijing Cui Wei P rimary S chool

This lecture will focus on the principle of Chinese language teaching, aiming at the difficulty Chinese characters — read, explain how to follow the principle, use the resources around literacy; how to guide students to use Chinese characters method in practice, gradually formed the Chinese thinking habits of students.

4. Teachers who participate in the entire training activity will award the certificate issued by COEA.
