Expiration date of Motrin painkiller Johnson & Johnson recall Johnson & Johnson announced on the 22nd that it would recall a batch of "Motrin" painkillers. The reason is that this batch of patent medicines is approaching the expiration date of three years and the tablets may not dissolve, which will delay the analgesic effect. The recalled products come in long and round packages of 24 or 30 capsules. A company spokesman said the recall is not aimed at consumers because there are no safety concerns, but is only recalling pharmacies' stock, about 12 million bottles. "Motrin Zero" painkillers are sold in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Fiji, Belize, St. Lucia and Jamaica. The recalled drug number is listed on the drug's website www.motrin.com. If consumers have any questions, they can call toll-free 1-888-222-6036 from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The recalled painkillers were produced between February 2009 and July 2011. Part of them were manufactured by contracted companies, and the rest were produced by Johnson & Johnson's Puerto Rico plant. This is at least the sixth recall the company has issued in the past two years. In the past two and a half years, Johnson & Johnson has recalled more than 24 types of consumer health products, prescription drugs and medical service supplies. Last year alone, it lost 900 million yuan due to recalls.
