Mesa is the 7th safest city in the U.S. (Alberta Times) A survey released last week ranked Mesa, Arizona as the seventh-safest city among U.S. cities with a population of more than 250,000. The rankings are based on the 2010 FBI Violent Crime and Traffic Death Reports. Mesa Police Chief Milstein attributed the honor to community partnerships and the mutual trust of residents. He noted that home and car burglaries have dropped significantly over the past few years. Other cities on the list include Plano, Texas, considered the safest, followed by Henderson, Nevada, Honolulu, Santa Ana, California, San Jose and Lincoln, Nebraska.
