Goodyear City Manager John Fischbach announced Tuesday that he has submitted his resignation, effective April 1, after nearly four years of service to the city. Goodyear Mayor Rod praised Fischbacher's outstanding work in the city and said his retirement is well-deserved after 35 years of service to the public. Prior to joining the municipal service, Fischbach served as city managers in Fort Collins, Colorado, Vancouver, Washington, Lake Forest, Illinois, and Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and as county administrator for Jefferson County, Washington. Following Fischbach's resignation, Deputy City Manager Brian Dyke will temporarily take over his duties until the City Council meets next week to decide who will replace him.
