Fry’s Supermarkets Supports Asian Women’s Health Initiatives Fry’s Supermarkets recently donated $5,000 to the Asian Pacific Community Advancement Association for a breast cancer education and awareness program. The program, called the Asian Women’s First Steps Initiative, provides breast cancer education and screening services to Asian and Pacific Islander women. Research shows that these two groups are the least likely of all groups to receive early breast cancer testing. Doug Hirano, Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Community Initiative, said: “We are very pleased that Fry’s Super Market supports our breast cancer awareness efforts. With these funds, we can educate hundreds of at-risk women and continue to dispel the myth that Asian women do not get breast cancer.” APCA is a non-profit foundation based in Phoenix.
