Freddie offers cash incentives to homeowners who purchase condos Freddie Mac Mac's HomeSteps unit will offer cash bonuses to buyers of bankrupt apartments. HomeSteps hopes to use this incentive to promote a large stockpile of bankrupt apartments. Through the Apartment Incentive Program, buyers of condominiums can receive up to $1,500 in cash to cover property management fees. This condo bonus program is only available to buyers who buy an apartment to live in, and the apartment must have been on the market for at least 120 days. Such buyers must sign a transaction contract between August 15 and November 15, and the entire transaction must be completed by December 30.
