Ford Escape Mazda Tribute Recall Ford Motor Company announced on the 26th that it would recall about 485,000 Escape small utility vehicles from 2001 to 2004 for maintenance because the accelerator pedal may become stuck, causing a car accident. The problem has so far resulted in at least one death and nine injuries. The Escape small utility vehicle is also sold in Europe as Mavericks. A week ago, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) began investigating Ford's recall of Mavericks equipped with 3-liter V6 engines and fixed speeders in Europe. NHTSA has received 68 complaints related to the problem, including 13 crashes that resulted in nine injuries and one death. In January this year, an Escape crashed in Arizona, killing a girl. This is the third time in two weeks that the Escape has been recalled. The Escape was the top-selling utility vehicle in the United States last month. A week ago, Ford recalled 11,500 2013 Escape vehicles with 1.6-liter engines because fuel lines could crack and leak, causing a fire. That recall comes days after Ford recalled 10,000 Escape vehicles to fix a problem with carpeting that could interfere with brakes. Ford spokesperson Marcy. Zwiebe said the 2001-2004 Escape's speedometer cable may have become stuck on the plastic cover on top of the engine, causing the accelerator pedal to become stuck. Zwiebe said that before the recall is repaired, car owners can go to the dealer to temporarily cut the Escape's speedometer cable to avoid driving problems. Mazda Motor Company (Mazda) announced that it will recall 217,500 Tribute SUVs in the United States due to unintended acceleration problems. The Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape share a variety of parts, including faulty cruise control systems. This flaw can cause the accelerator to get stuck, causing the car to stall. The models being recalled this time are Tribute manufactured between 2001 and 2006 and in 2008. .
