Complaints about the Ford Escape failed to start and rushed. Complaints about the Ford Escape failed to start and rushed. At the request of the North Carolina Consumer Council, a consumer rights organization, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on the 5th that it has begun investigating the accelerator problem of the Ford Escape small car from 2005 to 2012. As many as 1.6 million vehicles will be affected. Two drivers complained that their Escape car would not start and lurched forward. If NHTSA officially enters the investigation process, it may eventually lead to the recall of some vehicles. The Escape has been subject to multiple safety-related recalls this year and is now under government review, another sign of new problems with the vehicle. Ford recently launched a redesigned Escape car, but both new and old models have been recalled. NHTSA pointed out that the Consumer Council said that Ford has provided multiple suggestions to dealers on how to solve the problems of Escape vehicles that cannot start and suddenly lurches forward, and also issued technical service guides to help technicians identify the problems and repair them. Since July, the Escape has been subject to four recalls, including three for the 2013 model year. Ford recalled Escape vehicles with 1.6-liter engines in September to fix a coolant leak that could cause the engines to overheat and even catch fire.
