Across the country, the cold wind was blowing, but only Arizona was a scene of spring. Yesterday noon (January 5, 2015), the Republican gubernatorial candidate held an oath of office ceremony at the state capital, becoming the 23rd governor of Arizona. The new state government leadership team was also sworn in and met with the citizens for the first time. Doug Ducey is the former state government's finance minister and the former executive chairman of dessert Cold Stone. According to Doug Ducey, Cold Stone has branches in Beijing and Shanghai in China. Doug Ducey has been receiving attention and support from the Chinese community since he was preparing to run for governor. On October 4, 2014, the Chinese community organized a fundraising breakfast specifically for Doug Ducey. In his inaugural speech, Doug Ducey said that he will provide Arizona citizens with more opportunities, including work and life, and carry out educational reforms so that more families can live a quality life. Yesterday, politicians and overseas Chinese leaders from the Chinese community came to the scene to applaud the new state government team for their support. State Senator Yu Yanfen and her father, former House of Representatives Huang Shijun, Chandler Public Relations Committee member Zhang Shengyi, President of the Chinese Association of Alberta Qiu Shunxiong and his wife, former White House Asian and Pacific Islander Council member Deng Chaoju, Taiwan Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee Gao Zhizhong, Asia Pacific Committee Albert Lin, Vice Chairman of the Overseas Chinese Federation Cui Zengqi and other Asian friends came to express their congratulations. Huang Shijun and Zhang Shengyi took photos with the governor and his wife.
