>AT&T Offers Reward for Caught Thief AT&T Telephone Company is offering reward of thousands of dollars to catch the thief who stole copper wire from Tempe cell phone tower. AT&T has more than 1,000 cell towers in the Phoenix area, company spokesman Jerry Fuentes said. So far this year, more than 20 signal towers have been damaged to varying degrees. The targets of the thieves' attacks are quite clear: removing the copper wires in the cables will directly affect AT&T's mobile phone users. "This method of committing crimes has become more popular recently," said Tempe Police Chief Tom Reiff. "These thieves stole the same items again and again. They are believed to be drug addicts and sold the copper wire in exchange for drugs." The latest crime occurred at the intersection of Broadway and Priest in Tempe. Now, AT&T is offering a bonus of $5,000 to anyone who catches a copper wire thief or knows his whereabouts. Report phone number: 1-800-807-4205.
