Reported by Cao Zhibin) On the afternoon of September 24, 2011, a lecture with the theme of "Changing China: Opportunities and Challenges" hosted by the Phoenix Chapter of the China-American Semiconductor Association, the Phoenix Chapter of the Association of Scientists and Engineers Professionals in the United States, and the ASU Students and Scholars Association was successfully held in ASU MU230. The special guest for this lecture invited Dr. Beckwei, deputy dean of ASU W. P. Carey Business School and director of the MBA China Program of Carey Business School, to give a keynote speech. Professor Bei started from the analysis of China's economic data, to industrial structure adjustment, regional development challenges, to China's education issues and development, and finally gave a comprehensive and thorough analysis of China's future development and challenges based on the 12th Five-Year Plan. Professor Bei's wonderful explanation and specific analysis were highly recognized by the audience. The lecture provided a detailed and comprehensive analysis and gave the audience a lot of information. At the same time, the professor and the audience had many interactions and discussed everyone's questions in depth and carefully, making this lecture a banquet of ideas. The three-hour speech passed quickly, and many audience members continued to discuss relevant topics with Professor Bei after the meeting. Finally, the theme lecture ended successfully with everyone's warm applause. Sam, chairman of the Phoenix Branch of the China-American Semiconductor Association, presented Professor Bei with a letter of thanks to express Professor Bei's support for the local Chinese community. "National affairs, family affairs, and world affairs, we care about everything." This speech allowed us to understand more and strengthened our confidence in conducting more in-depth and comprehensive discussions locally. We hope that the vast number of knowledgeable friends will support our future activities and promote an atmosphere of joint discussion and learning.
