PHOENIX – Arizona has experienced three consecutive days of record-breaking heat this week, and that streak is set to continue.

This extreme heat warning will have ongoing effects in the Valley during the day until 8pm. Heat warnings will remain in effect for some areas of southern and eastern Arizona through the night.

This heat wave is dangerous and sometimes fatal. So, all Arizona residents are reminded to avoid outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. as this is the hottest time of the day.

Relevant staff will also conduct ozone health activities in The Valley area. So if anyone has breathing problems, please limit the amount of time you spend outside. Air quality is likely to be an issue again at Tuesday's high pollution advisory meeting.

In such high temperature conditions, it is very important to maintain moisture. The Salvation Army will set up hydration stations in the Valley area.

As of this Tuesday, the high temperature weather will ease. Temperatures in the Valley are expected to drop below 110 degrees Fahrenheit, well away from record high temperatures.

By the end of the weekend, the weather in Arizona is expected to drop below 3 digits Fahrenheit.
