Angry Crab Shack opens Chandler restaurant June 11

Angry Crab Shack is opening a new restaurant at 3033 S. Gilbert Road in Chandler. The June 11 celebration will include a spicy wing contest, children's activities and local nonprofit support.

Angry Crab Shack is opening its newest Arizona restaurant on June 11 at 3033 S. Gilbert Road in Chandler. The Arizona based seafood chain will bring its seafood boils, bold sauces and Asian Cajun flavors to the Southeast Valley.

The Chandler restaurant is owned and operated by local franchise partners from the Appiah family. Franchisee Adelaide Appiah said the family is proud to bring the brand's seafood and community focused approach to its own neighborhood.

The grand opening is planned as a public event rather than a simple first day of service. Chandler police and fire personnel are expected to take part in a spicy wing eating competition, and a DJ will provide music and entertainment.

Families visiting the opening can expect a balloon artist for children and a spin to win prize table that includes a chance to win a TV. The event will also support local nonprofit organizations.

The new restaurant will participate in Angry Crab Shack charitable programs tied to veterans, children's hospitals and local food banks. Angry Crab Shack operates 15 locations across Arizona and has more planned for this year.
