The 6th "Phoenix Night" will be officially held at ASU on September 23rd - preparations are in good order (Contributed by the Hualian Association of Alberta) The 6th "Phoenix Night" will be officially held at ASU on September 23rd and preparations are in good order The 6th "Phoenix Night" celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China National Day Reception and Mid-Autumn Festival will be co-sponsored by the Arizona Overseas Chinese Federation (Arizona Overseas Chinese Federation) and the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University, and co-organized by the Greater Phoenix Chinese Overseas Chinese Association. At the same time, it will join other Chinese and overseas Chinese groups in the province to celebrate the National Day of the People's Republic of China and the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. Preparations for the celebration are in progress. The overseas Chinese community in Arizona will hold a series of related celebration activities, including: flag-raising ceremony, Sino-US cultural forum, National Day reception, youth photography competition and poster competition, exhibition of outstanding works, talent show and Mid-Autumn Festival Dance. In order to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, various overseas Chinese communities in Alberta held a grand flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m. on September 15, 2012. The flag raising ceremony will be held at The American Legion, Department of Arizona, 4701 N 19th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015. The 4th Sino-US Cultural Forum "Aspects of Sino-US Cooperation" will be held grandly in the MU 220 Conference Hall of Arizona State University from 3 to 5 pm on September 23. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University and the Hualian Association of Alberta have jointly held such a large-scale event. Years of cooperation have deepened our understanding and deepened our mutual trust and respect. Years of hard work, especially the hard work of the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University, have made the Sino-US Cultural Forum a brand in the local series of activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day. We would like to use our media to express our deep respect for the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University’s righteous deeds of contributing to the community in obscurity for many years! Sun Weide, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the China-US Cultural Forum. Afterwards, Professor Smadelin, Director of the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University, will introduce the guest speakers to the guests. The keynote speakers invited to attend this forum include Mr. Li Jun from Avnet, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, Mr. Hank Marshall from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Jeremy Schoenfelder from AZ Sourcing, LLC. Afterwards, the National Day reception will be officially held at the MU Arizona Ballroom at Arizona State University from 5 to 7 pm that day. Sun Weide, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, Zhu Rentao, Overseas Chinese Consul, and Li Weizheng, Commercial Consul, as well as Arizona government representatives, local dignitaries, and representatives of overseas Chinese organizations from all walks of life will attend the reception to celebrate the holiday with the people of Arizona. At the reception, the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University will also hold a grand award ceremony for the winners of the Arizona Poster Contest for primary and secondary school students and the Arizona High School and College Student Photography Contest. The works of the winning contestants will be displayed to the guests in the National Day reception hall. Subsequently, the talent show and Mid-Autumn Festival Dance will be held in the same hall from 7 to 9 o'clock. All of the above activities will be free and open to the public.
