At 5:28 on August 3, due to heavy rainfall that destroyed the access road of the Sanfu Highway running parallel to the Daqin Railway, some villagers from the first and second villages of Qijiazhai Village in Funing County, Hebei Province crossed the railway protection net and entered the railway. When walking along the Daqin Railway to the Misty River Railway Bridge between Lulong North Station and Houying Station, they were hit by a freight train that could not stop, killing 9 people and injuring 4 others.
