An environmental group called Wild Earth Guardians is petitioning the federal government to reduce air pollution in eight western states. The group's petition calls on EPAs in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming to comply with the Clean Air Act. The petition lists Tucson in the state and 14 cities in other states as non-attainment areas. Nogalas, Paulsburg/Douglas and Yuma, Anthony, New Mexico, Salt Lake City, Utah, etc. are classified as moderately to severely non-attainment areas.
