A lecture group from the China Overseas Exchange Association will come to the state in mid-August to train Chinese teachers (picture) [Contribution from the National Association of Chinese Schools] After contacting the National Association of Chinese Schools, the China Overseas Exchange Association will send two lecture groups to various parts of the United States in August this year to train Chinese school teachers. As "China fever" and "Chinese language fever" continue to heat up, the relevant person in charge of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China proposed at the "Second World Chinese Education Conference" held in November 2011 to establish a "trinity" Chinese teacher training system of training, assessment, and teacher qualification certification. Therefore, Chinese teachers across the United States welcome the arrival of the lecture group and sign up for training courses one after another. In mid-August, a group of lecturers will go to two cities in Arizona to train teachers. The heads of Tucson Zuxun Chinese School, Modern Chinese School and Hope Chinese School in this state have prepared to receive the lecture group members and arrange for teachers to participate in training. The three professors in the lecture group are from Fudan University and Beijing Normal University. Among them, Professor Ge Jianxiong of Fudan University, who teaches Chinese cultural topics, is a nationally renowned professor. The specific schedule of the lecture group's training for teachers in the Phoenix area is as follows: 1) Due to various conditions, the training in the Phoenix area was divided into two days, and the contents of the two courses were different. August 16 (Thursday) 6:00-9:00 pm: Child Educational Psychology (2 hours) - Professor Yao Meilin; Interesting Teaching of Chinese Characters and Vocabulary (Part 1) (1 hour) - Professor Zhu Zhiping August 19 (Sunday) 9:00-12:00 am: Chinese Culture Special Topic (2 hours) - Professor Ge Jianxiong; Interesting Teaching of Chinese Characters and Vocabulary (Part 2) (1 hour) - Professor Zhu Zhiping Teaching location: MCC (Mesa Community College), BP building, room – BP4 (see the picture for the address) 2) When the lecture group came to Phoenix for teacher training last year, all the seats in the classroom were occupied. Although the classrooms reserved this year are slightly larger, due to limited seats, priority will still be given to those who have registered collectively from Chinese schools in Phoenix. This training event also accepts individual registrations from people in the Phoenix area, including Chinese teachers, people who love Chinese culture, and parents who care about their children's growth. 3) Individuals participating in the course do not need to pay fees, but must sign in 15 minutes in advance before each class. After class starts, no sign-ins will be accepted. At the end of the course on August 19, the lecture team leader will issue certificates to those who participated in the training. Only those who have completed two lectures on August 16th and August 19th will receive certificates. 4) All teachers are asked to register collectively at their Chinese schools. For those who have registered individually in the Phoenix area, please email Shuai Zhiruo, Vice President of the National Association of Chinese Schools and Regional Coordinator of Arizona: maryshuai99@yahoo.com. Please indicate the applicant's Chinese name, English name, contact number, email address, and school in the email. Due to limited seating at the venue, early registrants will receive a priority email reply confirming that their registration has been accepted.
