Yesterday (March 9) KOLD NEWS 13 reported that a 74-year-old Asian man Juanito Falcon was killed and his family believed he was the victim of a hate crime. Phoenix police say Marcus Williams attacked Juanito Falcon for no apparent reason as he was walking.

Police detained the suspect but said they had no evidence of a motive.

Court documents show Marcus Williams punched and kicked Juanito Falcon until he fell to the ground, causing him to hit his head on the sidewalk.

Two days after Juanito Falcon's death, police arrested Marcus Williams for second-degree murder.

Although investigators say they have no evidence that the victim was targeted because of his race, Juanito Falcon's niece Lysander Lanuza strongly disagrees.
