Arizona is opening COVID-19 vaccinations to people 65 or older starting Tuesday, after the federal government recommended states expand eligibility.

People 65 and older will be able to register for vaccine appointments starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday in counties in priority phase 1B of the vaccination process.

Visit azhealth.gov/findvaccine for information on each county’s vaccination phases and where vaccinations are available. Vaccination appointments can be made at podvaccine.azdhs.gov or by calling 844-542-8201, or through the county health department.

As of Tuesday, Arizona has administered a total of 188,740 doses of vaccine to 171,000 Arizonans. About 17,300 people received both doses of treatment.

To meet some of the increased demand, a second state-run vaccination site will open on February 1 at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Registration will open on Tuesday.
