Japanese car company Mazda announced on Monday that it would recall more than 52,000 2001 and 2002 Tribute SUVs because brake fluid may leak. Mazda says the vehicles' brake master cylinder reservoir caps can leak. If this occurs, the fluid can corrode the brake system's electrical connectors. This may cause melting, smoke or fire. The company said it would notify car owners, replace the fluid reservoir cap and modify the brake system for free. Mazda advises owners to park these SUVs outside their homes until repairs are carried out. Earlier this month, Ford recalled 244,530 Escape SUVs from the same year as Mazda because of the same problem. Ford has partnered with Mazda to produce cars for many years and still owns a small stake in Mazda. Nine batches of orange juice containing illegal fungicides were seized. The authorities recently seized nine batches of orange juice from Brazil and Canada after detecting that they contained illegal fungicides. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that orange juice has been found to contain fentiform (Carbendazim). The United States bans the use of this fungicide on oranges, but Brazil and some other countries allow its use. After the contamination of orange juice was discovered earlier last month, the FDA began sampling and inspecting orange juice shipments from manufacturers from various countries to the United States. The FDA stated that 11 batches of goods were found to contain more than 10 ppb of this fungicide, and the shipping companies of 2 of the goods decided not to import them into the United States. Another nine batches of goods were seized at the border. The authorities inspected a total of 80 batches of goods. Among the products found to contain fungicides, 6 batches came from Canada and 5 batches came from Brazil.
