Kohl’s said on Tuesday that it plans to hire more than 52,000 year-end seasonal temporary employees nationwide, an increase of more than 10 per cent from last year. Kohl's expects to hire an average of 41 new employees per store. Kohl's has 1,146 stores in 49 states in the United States. In addition, the company's distribution centers and credit business units will also hire approximately 5,700 seasonal employees. The company said its 52,700 seasonal employees can work anywhere from a few hours to more than 20 hours a week. The company plans to complete hiring by mid-November. Typical tasks include operating a cash register, stocking inventory, freight handling, and loading and unloading trucks.
