Best Cars, Toyota Wins Five First Places Consumer Reports magazine announced at the Washington Automotive Journalists Association meeting on the 28th that Toyota won five first places among the ten categories of cars selected in the magazine’s annual car special issue published on March 6. The last time a car manufacturer took first place in five categories was Honda in 2003. But Honda didn't win a single first this year, the magazine said. Toyota's redesigned Camry hybrid car was named this year's best family car by the magazine. The 2012 Camry hybrid car is faster, has a smoother ride, and is priced at a lower price of less than 30,000 yuan. The magazine’s No. 1 cars in ten categories and their features are as follows. Family car: Toyota Camry Hybrid (29,052), 38 miles per gallon, spacious, quiet, quick acceleration, and flexible handling. Sports car: Ford Mustang (28,880 to 43,880 yuan), with fast acceleration, flexible handling, and comfortable front seats. Small multi-purpose vehicle: Toyota RAV4 ($24,405 to $31,328), with low fuel consumption (23 to 24 miles per gallon). Low-priced family car: Hyundai Sonata ($21,800), spacious, well-appointed interior, 27 miles per gallon. Family van: Toyota Sienna V6 ($35,810), which is spacious and comfortable, can carry eight people, and can run 20 miles per gallon. It is the only small van with good reliability. Sports car: Infiniti G (34,225 to 37,225 yuan), with flexible handling and extremely fast acceleration, it has won the first place for six consecutive years. Green car: Toyota Prius gasoline-electric hybrid car (26,750 to 28,217 yuan), 44 miles per gallon, economical and practical. Small car: Subaru Impreza ($21,345), four-wheel drive, 27 mpg.
