During the holiday season, 4,000 people were arrested for drunk driving across the state, a 28% increase from last year (Alberta Times) Recently, the Arizona Drunk Driving Task Force released drunk driving figures from November 24 to New Year's Day. 4,000 people were arrested for drunk driving across the state. The governor's Office of Highway Safety released a news release on Sunday saying that 1,085 motorists were arrested on suspicion of extreme drunk driving and 385 were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The DUI said the above data is comparable to 1927 and represents a 28% increase over the same period last year. DUI reminds motorists that although the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays have passed, driving under the influence is illegal at all times, so do not break the law.
