Old woman fined for keeping 40 cats (Alberta Times) A Cowhead woman may be fined for keeping more than 40 cats in her mobile home, authorities said. City Animal Control searched the home of 74-year-old Helen Flint on Friday, where her cats were living in extremely poor conditions. Most fell ill and some were euthanized. Animal control officers also found nine decomposed dead cats in a dumpster behind the house. Authorities say Flint has been the subject of frequent complaints about cats since 2004. She will be charged with animal neglect, public nuisance, cat licensing, and pet overdose, and will be sent to the Niutou City Prosecutor's Office. Under city law, a maximum of three cats are allowed per household.
