One dollar begins, and everything is renewed. The first day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of Gengzi falls on Saturday, and the Chinese School of Alberta held its annual New Year's garden outing as scheduled. At nine o'clock in the morning, the Alberta Modern Chinese School located on the main campus of Arizona State University has already been decorated. The atrium on the first floor was decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations, and the activity stalls with strong Chinese elements for the children were already in place. With the continuous arrival of students and parents, the atmosphere of the event gradually became lively.

Starting at 9:30 am, as a traditional Chinese New Year project of the Alberta Modern Chinese School, in the school office on the second floor, Chairman Tao Shicheng and Principal Yang Yilun led some members of the school board and school committee to participate in the annual New Year reunion ceremony. Under the leadership of their teachers, the children in each Chinese class dressed in festive holiday costumes and sent New Year blessings to everyone with their unique and creative New Year greetings. The chairman and principal gave red envelopes and small gift bags with Chinese characteristics to the children, wishing them good health and academic progress in the new year.

This year, due to the impact of emergencies, the number of participants in the event was not as good as in previous years, but the event site was still bustling. The children, dressed in bright red Chinese-style dresses, happily participated in activities such as paper-cutting, spelling Chinese characters, and guessing lantern riddles. As always, the school prepared a large number of small prizes and gifts for the children who participated in the event. The wonderful performance of the Chinese community in Alberta pushed the festive and auspicious atmosphere of the entire New Year garden activity to a climax.

> As one of the important traditional activities of modern Chinese schools in Alberta, the New Year garden outing not only provides the Chinese community with a warm traditional Chinese family atmosphere, but also provides people of non-Chinese ethnic groups with opportunities to learn Chinese culture, customs and traditions, and improves the awareness and affinity of the Chinese community in the entire society. On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, let us wish the Modern Chinese School of Alberta to spread the education of Chinese language and Chinese culture even more prosperously in the new year.
