Reporter 11 Japan learned from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechanical and Electronic Products that in the face of domestic industries in the United States filing an application for anti-dumping investigations on Chinese steel wheels exported to the United States, Chinese manufacturers will actively respond with legal weapons. The Chamber of Commerce of Mechanical and Electrical Products hopes to negotiate with relevant industries in the United States on behalf of the Chinese wheel industry and strive to resolve trade frictions between the two sides through industry cooperation.

The U.S. domestic industry has recently submitted an application to the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Commerce for anti-dumping and countervailing investigations into China's exports of steel wheels. The U.S. Department of Commerce is expected to decide whether to file the case on April 19, and the U.S. International Trade Commission will hold a preliminary hearing on April 20 to determine whether the case is harmed.

The relevant person in charge of the Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics said that with the continuous development and growth of my country's auto parts industry, some auto parts companies have reached the world's first-class level. However, in the process of competition with foreign companies, some foreign companies are unable to win in the normal business competition process, and they frequently use trade remedy measures to restrict and suppress my country's related export companies.

The person in charge said that in recent years, my country's wheel companies have been subjected to anti-dumping investigations by South Africa, India, Australia and the European Union four times. While causing difficulties for Chinese enterprises to export, it has also seriously damaged the interests of downstream users and consumers in the above-mentioned countries. If this case is filed, it will be the first double-reverse investigation initiated by the United States into my country's mechanical and electrical products since 2009.

The person in charge said that as an industry representative of my country's wheel export enterprises, we resolutely oppose all forms of trade protectionism and will actively assist enterprises to deal with the case.

It is understood that the Chamber of Commerce for Machinery and Electronics and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers have jointly organized a response meeting on this case. A total of 16 major steel wheel manufacturers participated in the meeting. These wheel manufacturers unanimously stated that they will actively respond to the case and resolutely use legal weapons to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests. They also hope that relevant departments of the Chinese government will intensify negotiations to provide assistance to auto parts companies in exploring the international market.
