Guangdong is the birthplace of the Revolution of 1911. Overseas Chinese are closely related to the Revolution of 1911. Mr. Sun Yat-sen has repeatedly praised "overseas Chinese as the mother of the revolution." The theme of this "Overseas Chinese Media Viewing Guangdong" event is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911, and the Revolution of 1911 will be the focus of overseas Chinese media interviews and reports this year. From September 20th to 21st, all Huawen media representatives visited the Whampoa Military Academy, the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum, the Generalissimo's Mansion and other historical sites with piety to gain an in-depth understanding of the development history of the overseas Chinese in Guangdong and the history of the Revolution of 1911, and to commemorate the glorious deeds and special contributions of the overseas Chinese martyrs in the Revolution of 1911. At the same time, they also visited Huacheng Square and Canton Tower, and went to the Huanghuagang Martyrs Cemetery to lay wreaths to the 72 martyrs and jointly worship the martyrs who died in the Huanghuagang Uprising. On the morning of the 21st, more than 80 Chinese media representatives, together with all staff of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, conducted a lively exchange and discussion between overseas Chinese media and Guangdong overseas Chinese affairs. At the same time, all Chinese media representatives also attended the opening ceremony of the "100 Years of Xinhai Overseas Chinese Monument Exhibition" held by the Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum and visited the exhibition. The exhibition uses historical pictures, cultural relics, documents and text descriptions to show the historical facts such as the establishment of revolutionary organizations, founding newspapers and periodicals, raising funds, and participation in uprisings by overseas Chinese during the Revolution of 1911, and reproduces the great contributions made by overseas Chinese during the Revolution of 1911. From the 22nd to the 24th, all Chinese media representatives, organized by the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, visited Zhongshan, Shaoguan, Huizhou, Heyuan and other places in two routes to learn about the history of the Revolution of 1911 and the huge contributions of overseas Chinese to the motherland and Guangdong. They also experienced first-hand the results of Guangdong’s accelerated transformation and upgrading and the construction of a happy Guangdong. A team of reporters from the "Alberta Times" and more than 60 Chinese media representatives, led by Lin Lin, deputy director of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, went to Zhongshan and Shaoguan to collect news. The delegates took the high-speed rail and light rail, laughing and laughing all the way. They not only felt the important role of the intercity light rail in the transportation integration on the west bank of the Pearl River, but also experienced the convenience of the "one-hour living circle" of the Greater Pearl River Delta region's integrated city. By visiting the former residence of Sun Yat-sen and Xiaolan Town, the Star of Chinese Townships, we inspected and understood the construction of livelihood projects in Xiaolan Town, and visited the Shaoguan City Planning Museum, Muxi Industrial Park, affordable housing community, Northern Expedition War Memorial Hall, and Danxia Mountain Scenic Area, etc., to understand the pace and speed of economic construction in the hometown of overseas Chinese in Guangdong.
