Ten thousand people’s blind date party has "booked" half of the town, and will be held in Songjiang New Town on November 11. Consultations continue after the registration deadline 3,300 couples made reservations today?#33073;光?/FONT>

November 11, 2011. This day is very likely to become the day with the largest number of weddings in Shanghai this year. Yesterday, the Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau released statistics showing that a total of 3,300 newlyweds had made online reservations to "take off their clothes." And an even larger army of "stripped naked" will flock to Songjiang Thames Town for a blind date meeting of thousands of people tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

The number of reservations is close to this year's record

The number of reservations of 3,300 couples should not be underestimated. So far, the day with the largest number of weddings in Shanghai this year is August 6th, Chinese Valentine's Day, with a total of 3,342 couples receiving certificates.

According to past experience, the actual number of people registered is often several times more than the number of reservations. For example, there are only 810 couples registered for this year’s Chinese Valentine’s Day. Therefore, the 3,300 pairs of reservations almost means that tomorrow will be the day with the largest number of registrations in Shanghai this year.

But whether tomorrow can break the record of 10,150 couples getting married on the same day on October 10, 2010, staff from the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau said they could not yet make a conclusion.

Anxious parents "rob someone" in advance

On the weekend after Singles' Day, young men and women who want to "take off their clothes" will continue to be busy. Yesterday Morning Post reporters saw in Songjiang Thames Town that preparations for Shanghai's first Love and Marriage Expo, a "Dating Conference for Thousands of People" to be held here this weekend, are in full swing.

The reporter learned that this expo is divided into 5 areas: Area A Church Square will hold an opening ceremony and large-scale outdoor performing arts activities. Area B is the main venue of the event. The first floor is the exhibition and sales hall for marriage and love products, and the second floor is dotted with the booths of more than 40 marriage agencies.

In areas C and D, there are several "fate-seeking walls" as tall as one person, with more than 5,000 "fate cards" of single men and women posted on them, which list detailed information including age, gender, height, weight, education, work income, and requirements for their partner.

The reporter also discovered yesterday that some anxious parents had come to the unfinished site and looked through the glass windows at the information on the "Fate-seeking Wall", hoping to find a suitable partner for their children as soon as possible.

"Take over" half of Thames Town

"Although we have controlled the number of people in advance, it is really difficult to predict how many people will come to the scene." Zhou Juemin, president of the Shanghai Matchmaking Agency Management Association, one of the organizers of the event, said.

Zhou Juemin revealed that the originally planned event venue was indoors, covering approximately 10,000 square meters. But after the registration deadline, there was still a steady stream of people calling for consultation, "We have expanded the indoor interactive venue from one to three, and the scope of the blind date conference has also expanded from indoor to outdoor. Now half of Thames Town is 'covered'."

According to the plan, the 10,000-person blind date conference will open at 10:30 tomorrow morning, and the "Love Rally" will officially sound at 11:11.
