Feng Shulin, honorary president of Neishen University in the United States, and others were tried in Haidian Court today for allegedly illegally operating 1.5 million yuan in recruiting domestic students in the name of an American university.
The prosecutor's office alleged that since 2009, the defendant Feng Shulin had fabricated the fact that he was authorized by Neishen University in the United States, authorized the Beijing Shuobo Yuan Education Consulting Center to recruit students and run schools in the name of Nessen University in the United States, and defrauded Gong Senlin and others of more than RMB 180,000 in admissions agency fees.
During this period, the defendant Gong Senlin and others, knowing that Beijing Shuoboyuan Education Consulting Center had not obtained the qualifications to recruit students, still used the name of Ness University in the United States to recruit and run schools and collect student tuition fees, and the illegal business amount amounted to 1.5 million yuan.
In court, Feng Shulin denied the accusation. He stated that he had clear authorization from American University and was indeed the president of the school.
Later, Feng Shulin discovered that the school-running model of Neishen University in China was illegal and contained many irregularities. After the agreement with the other party was terminated, Feng Shulin still nominally served as the honorary principal of the Nessian University Greater China School District, authorizing the Beijing Shuobo Education Consulting Center to recruit students and run schools, during which time he collected more than 180,000 yuan in enrollment agency fees.
One of the defendants, Chou Engui, confessed that in early 2008, he found someone to discuss cooperation with Neishen University in the United States, and he knew Feng Shulin at that time.
Feng Shulin claims to be the principal of the Greater China School District of Neishen University in the United States and the general agent in China. He has found several projects but has not been able to complete them. In November 2009, Feng Shulin approached Chou Engui and told him that there was a doctoral class in finance at Neishen University in the United States. The two parties agreed to start collecting tuition fees from students in December 2009. Classes began in January 2010. There were 8 students when the class started. By February 2011, the number of students had grown to 15. In mid-June 2011, Chou Engui learned that someone had been caught using the name of Nessen University to commit fraud. Only then did he realize that Nessen University training was a scam.
