Peking University formally sued Zou Hengfu, citing three "serious" accusations. Since Zou Hengfu posted content involving Peking University on Weibo on August 21, Peking University has attached great importance to it...

Local families

We believe that, This rare and bad incident has seriously damaged the reputation of Peking University and the image of its teaching staff. It has seriously trampled on the dignity of the dean, department heads and professors of Peking University. It has seriously hurt the feelings of teachers, students, employees and alumni of Peking University. It has also hurt the innocent employees of Mengtaoyuan Restaurant.

We believe that over the past eleven days, Zou Hengfu has distorted facts, obscured the truth, deceived and concealed himself, misled public opinion, diverted attention, and confused the public. This kind of clumsy behavior that ignores the law and fools the public is not only extremely irresponsible, but also undermines the basic behavioral norms of modern civilized society and must not be tolerated.

We believe that, looking back at the development of the situation, Zou Hengfu's performance has become more and more a "farce". It is not only unrealistic but also meaningless to continue to expect him to provide so-called "evidence" to fully and thoroughly find out the truth of the incident.

To this end, the Peking University Authorized News Center has issued the following statement:

1. The indictment against Zou Hengfu has been submitted to the court today.

2. From the date of this statement, the relevant work has officially entered the legal process. Unless there are special circumstances, there will be no further response to this incident.

3. The Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office of Peking University, as always, welcomes all sectors of society (including Zou Hengfu) to continue to report problems in a responsible manner in accordance with the law and regulations.

4. Warn other individuals or institutions that are still damaging the reputation of Peking University to stop illegal activities immediately.

We hope that the judicial organs will make a fair judgment based on facts and the law as soon as possible, return the truth to the facts, restore the reputation of Peking University, restore order to the Internet, restore justice to society, and restore innocence to the victims.
