Sales of homes priced above $2 million increased 63% from August 2013. Increased sales of high-end homes have attracted some high-profile luxury properties to the market. More than 18 homes worth more than $2 million were sold in August this year, compared with 11 last August. In Northeast Phoenix, a total of 238 houses priced at more than $500,000 were sold in August, down 17% from July and down 9% from August last year. The price of luxury homes varies greatly depending on size and location. The current average sales price is US$254 per square foot, a 19% increase from August 2011.
