Columnist Wang Jingyu: Lan Qianwu’s writing art
Columnist Wang Jingyu: Lan Qianwu’s writing art Due to my professional relationship, the first thing I came into contact with was Mr. Lan Qianwu’s writings. A few years ago, he gave me a collection of essays called "Separation...
" As for writing, a few years ago he gave me a collection of essays called "Pipa on the Other Shore". Since the title has a classical charm that I have always admired, I read the words in it carefully. It should be said that his writing is simple, emotionally delicate and well-structured. From his simple words, I read his seriousness and love for real life. This love led him to pursue tirelessly the traditional art of calligraphy in my country. Later, Mr. Lan Qianwu gave me a copy of "Preparation and Creation", and I realized that I didn't know enough about him. Mr. Lan Qianwu has actually been specializing in calligraphy and refined calligraphy, and his calligraphy level has reached a certain height. Literature is another hobby of his, and the two hobbies are not inconsistent. He found an optimal fit between the history of traditional calligraphy and modern and contemporary culture, achieving some spiritual fusion, and based on this, he made new discoveries and creations.
What surprises me deeply is that his writing style and calligraphy characteristics are very different. One represents delicate feelings, and the other represents rough emotions. His personal aesthetic experience has been perfectly displayed in these two different artistic fields. This kind of display has made his calligraphy have certain attainments, and his calligraphy has gradually become an aesthetic activity for the appreciators.
Due to the unique characteristics of calligraphy, the unity of the artistic taste of calligraphy and people's spiritual taste. Calligraphers must develop their exquisite art from words and exert their own unique personality and aesthetic taste, which requires tireless efforts. In the practice of calligraphy, Mr. Lan Qianwu's wild cursive writing best represents his art of writing. His wild cursive writing is eclectic, with continuous and rushing strokes and strange changes in character shapes. There is no trace of the gentle and elegant writing style in his prose and poetry, but it is very like a dragon flying and a snake dancing. It can be imagined that he was full of passion when writing and completed it in an extremely excited state. It has a dripping beauty of self-liberation and self-improvement. He completely abandoned the temple atmosphere and inherited the characteristics of the "two kings" calligraphers, and developed his own unique style in the direction of simplicity, dignity, wildness, richness and strength.
> Mr. Lan Qianwu's calligraphy creation is sincere. The reason why a person's life experience and cultural accomplishment can be reflected in calligraphy is mainly related to the calligrapher's aesthetic taste and artistic feeling.
In today's society, there are really not many people who insist on creating calligraphy. In this era of electronics and digitization, the art of writing, as one of my country's traditional artistic forms, has gradually shown its precious side. The art of calligraphy has built a bridge between the expression of tradition and modernity, becoming a living fossil of Chinese traditional culture and a spiritual product of people, providing unique thinking and contributions to contemporary art. Mr. Lan Qianwu worked silently on this lonely path. He rented a simple room, and the walls of the room were filled with classical documents and his calligraphy works. He understands well that in order to adhere to the traditional calligraphy pen and ink, it must be perfectly integrated with the poetic content and classical culture, so as to form a complete Chinese classical artistic atmosphere. Only in this way can the art of calligraphy show its unique charm. Its unique cultural characteristics and artistic spirit can inject a fresh classical elegance into the qualities urgently needed by the contemporary human spirit. Recently, Mr. Lang Ganwu made a bold attempt, which of course benefited from his own writing talent. He expressed the modern poems he wrote in another writing art, that is, calligraphy. This has always been his dream. This dream was only started to be implemented after more than 20 years of artistic practice in the calligraphy and literary circles. This kind of attempt seems to be uncommon in the modern calligraphy world.
Here, I will describe Mr. Li Si’s words about “using the pen” in calligraphy. Li Si said, “The way I use the pen is to return quickly first, then to move quickly, like an eagle looking at the passing peng, trusting it is natural, and I can’t believe it.” It needs to be revised again. The movement of the feet is like a fish swimming in the water; the dance of the pen is like the scenery of the mountain and the clouds. It is sometimes light and sometimes heavy. If you are good at thinking about it, you should see it yourself." He relies on his own talents to swim freely between the two arts, combining them like a fish swimming in water. Of course, there is still a long road ahead, and it requires unremitting efforts by writers to reach a higher artistic palace. We'll have to wait and see.
