Yu Ning: Beautiful Anna - In memory of the respected elder sister Chen Zhuomei (picture) Yu Ning on the left and Anna on the right (Alberta Times) When I heard the news of Anna's death, like all the Chinese people in the community, I was very sad. Although I couldn't say goodbye to my elder sister Anna in person, it might be better to leave only Anna's lively, beautiful and graceful image in my memory forever. She has an elegant temperament and is approachable; she loves China and has a clear distinction between love and hate; she never admits defeat, is tenacious and strong, and her beauty has become an eternity. The encounter with Sister Anna originated in 1998. When the Chinese Cultural Center was being built, with the active support of Sister Anna, we successfully moved the "China Week" event from downtown Phoenix to the Chinese Cultural Center. Over the past 13 years, we have had a lot of cooperation and communication at work, and had in-depth discussions and discussions on hobbies. We confided in each other and talked about everything. Her behavior, dealings, and style moved me, influenced me, and encouraged me. Although she is of a similar age to my mother, she is more like my sister. I prefer to call her my dear sister Anna. Anna is an envoy who is enthusiastic about public welfare and promotes Chinese culture. As we all know, she is one of the founders of the "China Week" event. Her love for Chinese culture and her contribution to the Chinese community are well known. In the 1970s, when many people overseas knew little about mainland China and were even resistant to it, Sister Anna did not follow the crowd, because in her eyes, she had always been a part of China and had never left. She contributed money and effort to receive early delegations and international students from mainland China; she personally promoted Chinese culture and founded "China Week". She is a hero in spreading Chinese culture and promoting unity in the Chinese community. Sister Anna is a talented and accomplished painter. She studied under teacher Cao Jinqi and began to learn painting when she was nearly 60 years old. Talented, diligent and eager to learn, she has an unyielding spirit and chooses exquisite gongbi painting, challenging the convention of not painting gongbi after the age of 40. Her paintings are delicate and clear, and she creates artistic conception while pursuing rigor and verisimilitude. The phoenix and Chang'e in her paintings are as elegant, agile, and beautiful as herself. Sister Anna is also a winner in life. She was born in Hong Kong. In her early years, due to the failure of her father's investment, her family was in ruins. She was unable to go to school to receive education like other children, but she chose to study on her own, working hard and perseveringly. In 1950, eldest sister Anna married her husband, Deng Zizhen, and came to live in the small town of Coolidge from prosperous Hong Kong. As a first-generation immigrant, the hardships of life and racial prejudice could not break her. She worked hard, was thrifty, took care of her family, and supported her husband and children. Under her influence and education, her sons and daughters all became successful in their studies and became state judges, lawyers and doctors respectively. Anna, fifth from left, entertaining guests. Although Sister Anna has left us, her voice and smile will remain in our hearts forever. I will never forget her gentleness and easy-going, her hard work, her clear distinction between love and hate, and her perseverance. She is not proud, does not ask for credit, does not give up, and never gives up - this is the sister Anna who will always be in my memory. Here, I would also like to thank Sister Cen Jiaer, who not only quietly served the community with Anna in the past 15 years, but also carefully accompanied and cared for Anna until the last moment of Anna's life! Here, I would like to say thank you to you on behalf of Sister Anna. Sister Anna, just like her Chinese name Zhuo Mei, is a hero who is not inferior to women. Sister Anna, have a good journey and may you rest in peace in heaven! Yu Ning wrote in Phoenix on October 13, 2011
