Local families

According to historical records, the ancestor of the Yu family was Xuan Xiao, the son of the Yellow Emperor. And Duke Yu Jingzhong, who was regarded as the Taizu by the Yu family, was a native of Shaoguan, Guangdong in the Song Dynasty. He was rarely known as a literary scholar and became a Jinshi. Later he became Minister of the Ministry of Industry and became as famous as Ouyang Xiu and others. Cai Xiang, the admonisher at that time, wrote a poem praising the virtuous minister Yu Jing: "There must be advisers who can help the emperor at his right and move the court with more grace." This is the origin of the word "style" in "Yu Fengcaitang". Because there is a river in Shaoguan named "Wuxi", Yu Jing used this as his nickname and published an anthology of essays, so "Wuxi" became another nickname for Yu Fengcaitang. Yu Feng Caitang originated in China and developed overseas. More than a hundred years ago, the Yu clan in the United States established the "Yu Feng Caitang" in the United States, and it is a large clan organization among many overseas Chinese communities. Fei Niyu Fengcai Hall was established in 1961 and the lower hall was built in 1988. Since then, ancestor worship has continued and family reunions have been held every year. The Yu family, old and young, cooperate harmoniously to develop the church affairs and make important contributions to the local overseas Chinese community. The earliest "Citi Restaurant" The Yu family of Feini has been in Feini for nearly a hundred years. As early as 70 or 80 years ago, Mr. Yu Kangzhong of the Yu family ran a "Citi Restaurant". The restaurant was located on the bustling Central Street in the city. It was one of the very few Chinese restaurants at that time. Mr. Yu was well versed in both Chinese and English, was a good businessman, and had good relations with the political and business circles at that time. Many of the Yu family members who had just arrived in the port were taken in to work or helped to settle down and take root. He was one of the heroes of the Fei Ni Yu family who opened the port. The earliest Chinese school opened More than 60 years ago, the Phoenix Overseas Chinese Community opened a Chinese school. Mr. Yu Zichun, who graduated from Lingnan University in Guangdong and immigrated to the United States, has a good foundation in Chinese studies. In addition to opening a family-style warehouse in his hometown, he also served as the principal of a Chinese school. At that time, there were a certain number of Chinese in Feini, and Chinese children generally received English education. In order to enable the next generation to inherit Chinese culture and not forget the nostalgia of the motherland, Mr. Yu Zichun used his knowledge of Chinese studies to teach students. From the beginning, the sound of Chinese reading rang out in the hot desert city. This was the earliest Chinese school in this city. The earliest Yu's "Supermarket" In the 1940s, two other gentlemen, Yu Shanghe and Yu Yongxiang, opened a "Xingguang Margin" which could be called a "supermarket" at that time. Margin is the word "Market" in Siyi dialect. There are also two warehouses opened by Mr. Yu Mingde. Mr. Yu Mingde was an active figure in the overseas Chinese community at that time and an important contributor to the establishment of the early Yu Fengcaitang. Mr. Yu Shanghe, the proprietor of Xingguang Margin, is the most enthusiastic. He has served the Yu family for a long time. After the establishment of Fei Niyu Fengcai Hall, he served as chairman, treasurer and secretary for a long time. The early overseas Chinese communities held multiple positions and were not "monopoly", and they devoted 100% of their money, effort, and time without the spirit of dedication to their clans and relatives, so it was difficult to survive. According to information, by the 1960s, the Yu family already had twelve warehouses operating in Fei Ni. The fastest group to raise funds to purchase a church hall. In 1988, Fei Niyu Fengcai Church decided to purchase a church hall. The clan members responded positively and raised NT$150,000 within one week. Later, the amount was raised to NT$230,000 due to the expansion of the church hall. Since the funds raised were enough to buy a house, not a penny of the 20,000 yuan allocated by the head office was received, and was given to other clubs in greater need. The Most Self-Reliant Hall After raising the money, the Yu clan immediately started to expand the hall. Everyone was very excited. Led by Yu Ruigun, the second generation of the Yu family, a group of young men and women rolled up their sleeves and started planning. They built the floor, painted the floor, and decorated the auditorium and kitchen equipment. In a short period of time, a new hall was completed. In the eyes of the Yu clan, the newly built "Yu Fengcaitang" is beautiful and practical, and the active participation of the descendants is even more exciting. From then on, the ancestor worship was very popular every year, and the Yu family's men, women, old and young actively participated. The six roast pigs donated by the tribe every year were all "too much pork" for everyone after the ancestor worship, and the event continued year after year. The clan hall with the most ABC participation. Today, the church affairs of Fei Niyu Fengcai Hall have been taken over by the middle and younger generations. Church meetings for the past ten years have been held in English. The new generation respects the old overseas Chinese, develops conference affairs, and is enthusiastic about society. Nowadays, many kinship organizations are worried about having fewer members and no successors, but Fei Niyu Fengcaitang has allowed people to see a scene of vigorous development and passed down the work from generation to generation, setting an example for overseas Chinese communities.

The most capable women's department There are a group of ladies in the Yu family who are not only good at running the house, but also unconventional in participating in family affairs. In the early days, Mrs. Ruigun, Biyun, Mrs. Wenjie, Mrs. Weiguang, Mrs. Mengjue, Mrs. Shutang, Mrs. Guoning, and later Mrs. Jintian, Mrs. Wenwei, Mrs. Jintang, Mrs. Dujun... The women's department composed of others, (women are distinguished by their husband's name, which is not a preference for boys, but a phenomenon of "overseas Chinese community culture"), whether it is ancestor worship, spring banquets or outings, all specific affairs of the young and old are handled with all their heart and soul, and are often praised by the tribe. The Most Comprehensive Scholarship The Yu family has a large number of talented people, which is closely related to their emphasis on cultivating the next generation. Yu Fengcaitang has issued scholarships year after year, with the largest number and the most comprehensive. Whether they are students studying English or Chinese, as long as they have excellent grades, they will do their best to cultivate them. From the testimonials of these students, we realized that the efforts of the Yu family have been fruitful and have yielded numerous fruits. The earliest Miss Talent America winner. The first "double" queen in the Yu family beauty pageant was Miss Helen Yu. She was the champion among the contestants in 1977. That year, the Miss Talent Award was established for the first time. Ms. Helen Yu won the favor of the judges with her martial arts and became a double champion. In 1978, she won the Miss Talent America title. The Most Model Hall Among the Yu family halls in the United States, Fei Niyu Fengcai Hall is also a model church. In terms of the construction of the motherland, whether it is a church or an individual, the deep love of the Fei Niyu family for their family is obvious to all. It cost more than 5 million Hong Kong dollars to rebuild the ancestral hall in his hometown. The head office of Yu Fengcaitang in the United States raised more than 1 million. Fei Ni Yu's clan donated 260,000 Hong Kong dollars, and Yu Wenjin and his wife donated 100,000 Hong Kong dollars. The Yu family's ancestral hall in Dihai, Kaiping, was built very beautifully and magnificently. The Most Valuable Overseas Chinese Leaders The Yu family is a talented group of people who have made positive contributions to the Feinie Overseas Chinese Community and the Yu family throughout the United States and even the world. Mr. Wenyu served as the leader of various important overseas Chinese organizations in Fei Ni, including the Federation of Overseas Chinese, and was the president of the Yu Fengtang Association in the United States. In addition to the above professional titles, Mr. Wen Jin was already a veteran of the Yufengtang Association in the United States at a young age. He served as the Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisor to the National Government for 10 years. He did not resign until Taiwan’s political parties changed. In 2000, he was awarded the founding vice president of the World Yu Clan Association and is currently the honorary president of the association. Inside and outside the "Kangle Building" in the Senior Citizen Paradise, you can see the "Moonlight Pavilion" built by Mr. and Mrs. Yu Wenjin with a donation of 10,000 yuan to commemorate his loving mother, Mrs. Yu Huangyue Mingtai; Mrs. Yu Wenyu donated 10,000 yuan and named the lobby on the first floor of the Leisure Building "Yu Wen "Yue Hall" in memory of her husband, Mr. Yu Wenyu; Mrs. Yu Wenwei donated 10,000 yuan, and the hall on the second floor of the Hongle Building was named "Yu Wenwei Hall" in memory of her husband, Mr. Yu Wenwei; and the hall on the third floor was named "Yu Yulin Hall" in memory of the family patriarch, Mr. Yu Yulin. Their good deeds, inheritance of the traditional virtues of Chinese culture, and positive contributions to their motherland and hometown, as well as to the local overseas Chinese community, are admirable.
