Feng'er's family is a traditional Chinese medicine store that sells Chinese medicinal materials. What's interesting is that the neighbor on the right, a couple named Kong, runs a Western medicine store. Mr. Kong mainly deals in Western medicine, and Mrs. Kong is a midwife. It was she who delivered Feng'er into this world. Feng'er and Xi'er each have their own business methods, and there is no friction between the two families. Adults and adults and children get along well with each other. Feng'er's family has parents and five brothers and sisters. Mr. Kong and his wife also have five children. Feng'er and the third daughter of the couple named Kong are about the same age. Her name is "Fan Xi". When she was in elementary school, she changed her name to "Fan Yi" because she couldn't write the word "Fan Xi" which was too difficult to write. Now, she no longer has to worry about writing a name, but Feng'er and she still use their nickname Xi'er. Xi'er has two older sisters and two younger brothers at home. She is a stuck-up child who is not loved by her parents and not liked by her older sisters and younger brothers. Therefore, her personality is somewhat introverted. Her rare happy smile can only be seen when the two little girls are alone together. Feng'er and Xi'er are neighbors separated by a wall. Before liberation, when every family dug air-raid shelters, the air-raid shelters of the two families were connected to each other under the same wall. If something happened to one family, they could escape through the exit of the other family. Feng'er's brother and sister are about the same age as Xi'er's sister. They almost go to the same middle school. Feng'er and Xi'er go to the same elementary school. They often go to school together, and often read little picture books together, tell stories, and whisper. Things that adults cannot talk about, the two little girls crowded together and chatted endlessly. Looking back at that time, children were really happy. Adults rarely had time to care about these children, so they had a lot of free time to do what they wanted to do. On Sundays or days when I don’t go to school during holidays, I would take Xiaolan and her children with me to dig wild vegetables at the foot of the southern suburbs. In fact, I don’t really know which ones are edible and which ones are not. I just go out for a run and have fun. It’s like going on an outing with children. The wild vegetables I dig are distributed to other children, and I go home happily. After graduating from elementary school, Feng'er went to a middle school for the children of railway workers. Xi'er was not a child of railway workers and studied in another middle school. With more homework, the two had fewer opportunities to meet. Later, Feng'er went to a secondary technical school and Xi'er was admitted to medical school. The two girls, who had not seen each other for a long time, met by chance. When Feng'er saw that Xi'er was not in a high mood and didn't look well, she asked Xi'er with concern if something was wrong. Xi'er told Feng'er that she had been sick recently and had stopped going to school. She was recuperating at home for a while and would resume school when she recovered. Feng'er expressed great sympathy for Xi'er's misfortune and comforted her that she would recover soon and that the young man had no problems. Later I heard that Xi'er was expelled from school because she fell in love while in college. At that time, the school management was very strict, and it was strictly forbidden to fall in love during school. I felt sorry for Xi'er. Later, due to urban construction and demolition, the bustling street where Feng'er lived had to be widened, and all the families in the street were relocated. Xi'er's family didn't know where to move. Many years later, Feng'er met Xi'er's mother on the street. During the conversation, she learned that the school's treatment of Xi'er was too harsh at that time. Later, the policy was implemented against Xi'er and she was changed to a medical school dropout and was scheduled to work as a factory doctor in a small factory. She is now married with two daughters and a mother, and her life is pretty good now. After hearing this, Feng'er was very happy for Xi'er. She could finally raise her head and be a human being. She almost made a mistake and was filled with hatred. Originally, falling in love was not a big deal, just some criticism and education was enough. The method of expelling someone from school was like beating someone to death with a stick. There was no room for maneuver and it was not conducive to the growth of young people. The two little girls grew up together, but experienced different growth paths. I remember when I was a child, I went to Xi'er's house to play. There was an oil painting of the Passion of Jesus Christ hanging on the wall of their house (I didn't understand it at the time), and they also told stories from the Bible such as Passover. Their parents must also be Christians who believe in Jesus Christ. But then the political situation changed suddenly, and no one dared to admit that they were Christians. People gradually moved away from Christianity, and I think the Xier family must be among them. Feng'er was under God's care and protection. God led her family to come to the United States. They had the opportunity to come into contact with the church, heard the gospel and fell into the arms of the Lord. What a blessed family they are. Pray that God will also protect and favor Xi’er’s family, and also find Xi’er’s family who were the children of the Lord in their early years in different environments on the mainland. A hundred years later, the two families can meet again in heaven, praise and sing to God together, and give all praise and glory to God!
