Su Zhiying: Appreciation of works of art——Reviewing the National Day Painting Competition (Photos) A work of art is not only a beautiful picture, but also a bridge to communicate with the soul to guide the viewer's feelings, imagination, and deep thoughts. What we appreciate today is not the works of art masters, but the lovely children who grow up around us. Their vivid and touching pictures allowed us to hear the children's voices. Since learning about this competition in early April, every student in Xiaosu Studio has spontaneously requested to participate in this art competition where they can use their talents to write their own voices. Seeing the children's passion and hard work, as a teacher I also want to share their creative process with everyone. Let’s start with Katie Tian, a lively six-year-old girl who loves painting even though she is young. She put forward many ideas from topic selection to creativity. She wanted to draw the most beautiful fireworks, but in the end she found a picture of her standing on the beach with a bright smile among a bunch of photos she collected. She is only six years old, which makes me a little worried. Can she draw such a difficult portrait? But this doubt disappeared the first time I saw her bold composition. Katie not only has a talent for painting but also has a perseverant heart. Whenever she encounters a painting that is not satisfactory, she always has to modify it until she thinks it is perfect. Her work "Freeland" reflects Katie's unfettered boldness, using an Impressionist approach to express light and color. Connie Zhu is a gentle and elegant 15-year-old high school student. In her diligent painting process, she not only brought high-quality effects to her work "City Under Fireworks", but also influenced other children around her. The children all said that Sister Connie was excellent. The multi-talented sisters Rina Li and Kana Li each created "Leap" and "Happy Home", both of which reflect the two sisters' love for the United States. The elder sister Rina likes horses, and her works use a soft background to set off the galloping horses that cross obstacles. My younger sister Kana chose a family portrait, coupled with the famous scenery of Alberta. The strong western painting style is vividly expressed in little Kana's handwriting. Eight-year-old Emily Lei's "Declaration of Independence" seems to take us back to more than two hundred years ago on July 4, 1776. She holds the Stars and Stripes in her hand and quietly listens to the world-shaking 'Declaration of Independence? #12290; Thirteen-year-old Ada Qu used her skillful painting skills to create the "Great Man" work, which reproduces the spectacular sculpture masterpiece of the famous American painter and sculptor Kelsang Borglum to commemorate these four outstanding former presidents. Kevin Tang and Khristopher Luo are two boys who are lively and a little childish, but because of this personality, their works are grand and informal. Lena Han, who is rich in observation and imagination, uses the Statue of Liberty, the Stone Eagle, and herself as themes to depict "shaping" with different textures and outstanding artistic conception. Each student creates each piece through their own observation and understanding. As the students drew and painted on pieces of white paper, touching pictures gradually emerged. Students and parents also admired and praised each other, and the studio was filled with a warm and harmonious atmosphere. Space limitations prevent us from describing more excellent works here.
