Liu Guotai: The Nanjing Massacre will always be the pain in our hearts. The large-scale massacre, rape, arson, and robbery committed by the Japanese army in Nanjing, China during World War II...

The large-scale massacre, rape, arson, robbery and other war crimes committed by the Japanese army in Nanjing, China during World War II have left eternal pain in the hearts of the Chinese people. In the six weeks starting on December 13, 1937, nearly 300,000 Chinese civilians and soldiers were killed by Japanese bullets and butcher knives. Approximately 20,000 Chinese women were raped by Japanese soldiers who were like beasts. The magnificent and beautiful city of Nanjing was deeply engulfed in fire, and one-third of the city was set on fire and reduced to ashes. The scenes are shocking and many things are inhumane. The number 300,000 has been fixed as a symbol of the deep suffering caused by Japanese militarism to the Chinese people during the war. Japan's far-right elements ignore the reality of history and deny the existence of the Nanjing Massacre. They regard the just and awe-inspiring Tokyo Trial as a "Tokyo Trial view of history" imposed on Japan. Consider China's emphasis on this number as "Chinese-style exaggeration" and a historical card used by China to exert political pressure on Japan. Their barking has lost the basis of humanity. The conscientious Japanese frankly admit the scandal of Japanese militarism. The famous scholar Professor Zhuhara Jujiji wrote "Japanese Soldiers Invading Asia"; Professor Tomio Azuma also wrote "Nanjing Incident and Criticism of Historical Data", "Refutation of the Nanjing Massacre as 'Nonsense'", "Nanjing Massacre" and other monographs. Akira Fujiwara and others also admitted that the number of Chinese killed in the Nanjing Massacre was between 100,000 and 200,000. Japanese soldiers and reporters accompanying the army also described what happened at that time. The research and accounts of many people have given those far-right elements a resounding slap in the face. Tanaka Takayoshi in "History Severed." "Secret Words of Defeat" recalled: "At that time, Lieutenant Colonel Nagayong, who was the intelligence director of the "Shanghai Expeditionary Force" under the command of Asaka Palace (later transferred to the captain of the 74th Regiment and promoted to colonel), boasted to me that he was the one who ordered the massacre of prisoners in the name of the army commander. Due to the rapid advance of the Yanagawa Corps that landed at Hangzhou Bay, about 300,000 Chinese soldiers were cut off. They dropped their weapons and surrendered to me. Important points To deal with so many prisoners, food was the biggest problem. I immediately issued an order to all the troops under my command to kill all the prisoners. In the name of the army commander, I conveyed the order through the radio. The massacre began because of this order, but it was outrageous that the Japanese army was so inhumane. They massacred unarmed civilians in large numbers, which aroused people's resentment! Sawada Masahisa, the artillery observation squad leader of the 16th Division, testified that "the number of prisoners was about 10,000, so he reported it to the army commander, who ordered an immediate execution." The commander of the 16th Division, Nakajima Imago, also confirmed that "generally no prisoners are kept, and all are dealt with." Then it appeared that the captain of the 6th Brigade of the 6th Division recorded in his diary that "the corpses were washed up like drifting logs by the waves and were washed up on the shore. As far as the eye can see, there are piles of corpses piled up on top of each other. These corpses may number in the thousands or tens of thousands, and the number is very large." "Asahi Shimbun" reporter Masago Imai also wrote in his article: "The entire dock is a dark mountain of corpses. , there were 50 or 100 figures walking back and forth. They were dragging corpses into the river, groaning in pain, and the pantomime silence on the other side was like mud under the moonlight. Likewise, the whole dock was flashing slightly, it was blood. Soon, the coolies who had finished their work were forced to stand in a line towards the river bank, "ta, da, da -", leaning up and falling down, as if dancing, with the sound of machine guns. The group fell into the river. It ended with about 20,000 people. A soldier from Miyazaki Prefecture once recorded: "Killing a Chinese is like killing a cat or a dog." "Light -". According to the verification of the Nanjing Military Tribunal in February 1946: 28 massacres by the Japanese army, involving 190,000 people; 858 scattered massacres, involving 150,000 people. The Japanese army carried out a massacre in Nanjing for six weeks, and 300,000 Chinese people were robbed, killed and buried alive. The most outrageous thing is that we have heard of football matches and track and field competitions, but we have never heard of murderous competitions. And this scene also appeared in the Nanjing Massacre. On December 13, 1937, "Tokyo Nichichino Shimbun" reported with "Super Record of Killings" that "Japanese second lieutenants Toshiaki Mukai and Takeshi Noda met for a "murderous competition" on the way to Nanjing, and agreed that the first person to kill 100 people during the occupation of Nanjing would win. From Jurong to Tangshan, the two men killed 89 and 77 people respectively. When they arrived at the foot of the Purple Mountain in Nanjing, they each claimed to have killed 106 and 105 people. However, they did not know who would kill 100 people first, so it was decided that the game would be indiscriminate and rematch to see who could kill 150 Chinese first - ". Taking pride in killing is no longer a soldier, but a beast in uniform. Of course, they finally got the end they deserved.

The alarm bells of history are still ringing, and Japanese militarism is resurrecting itself. They still want to be the boss of Asia and the world. And it has begun to implement its own militarism, not only barking on the "Four Northern Islands" and "Dokdo" issues, but also occupying China's inherent territory, the Diaoyu Islands. Even though this place was not on their country's own map fifty years ago. These right-wing forces will take this as an opportunity to spread their teeth and use the "China threat theory" to expand their military power, turn the Self-Defense Forces into an invasion force, and even bark that they will not hesitate to fight China. Shigeru Iwasaki, chief of staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces’ highest cadre department, recently issued a special instruction requiring the Self-Defense Forces’ sea, land and air forces to formulate a “response operation plan” as soon as possible. The thief's wolf heart is already on the page. Do we want to let the September 18th incident happen again? Do we want to hear the scramble for Marco Polo Bridge again? Do we have to endure the sorrow of the Anti-Japanese War for another eight years? No! never! Today's China is no longer the "sick man of East Asia" of the past. It has a strong backbone. We love peace, but we will never tolerate bullying from others. We will wait and see and never take it lightly. As the anniversary of September 18th is approaching, let us not forget history and keep the alarm bell ringing!
