"A Detailed Description of Red Mansions" Editor's Note: The song music of the 87 version of "Dream of Red Mansions" was written by the famous composer Wang Liping based on the lyrics of "The Twelve Hairpins of Jinling" by Cao Xueqin. It took more than four years to write, among which "The Song of the Burial Flowers" took the musician almost two years. Its songs, performed by Chen Li, a music wizard, have almost become eternal songs in the hearts of fans. In order to recreate the beauty of the Red Mansions songs, the Tucson Huasheng Chorus in Arizona and the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona jointly organized the 2013 Mid-Autumn Festival Concert of Dreams of Red Mansions (held on September 20 and September 21). Wang Liping and Chen Li will attend the concert, and Chen Li will also serve as the lead singer of the chorus. This is the first time Chen Li has performed the song of Red Mansions since the TV series "Dream of Red Mansions" was aired in 1987. In view of the lack of understanding of the story of Dream of Red Mansions by overseas audiences, this column specially invites experts to introduce and comment on the story and characters of Red Mansions. We also hope that this will inspire more Chinese friends.
Tusang Huiming Nowadays, when people talk about feelings between men and women, they say they have received a call. When they see the direct gaze that insists on digging something out between the black, blue or green eyes of the other person, the person who comes here often hides his mouth and smiles secretly: they have met each other. But if you read ancient Chinese literary classics, such as A Dream of Red Mansions, you will find that although our way of expression is very straightforward, it is also vulgar. It's the same story about a man and a woman who love each other but can't get it right. Master Cao Xueqin and Cao Cao's title "Wonderful Ningmei" made all future generations feel inferior. "Wang Ningmei" is not a word brand, nor is it a fixed format of poetry. It first appeared in the fifth chapter of "A Dream of Red Mansions". Presumably, after Cao Xueqin introduced the Rongning family and the main characters, he was ready to compose the story of the Red Mansions in an all-round way. He used Baoyu's dream as the starting point and imagined twelve songs, of which "Wan Ning Mei" is one of them. These twelve pieces of music have different contents and formats. Rather than Master Cao showing off his poetry skills, it is more accurate to say that he used the form of poetic melody to reveal the general framework of Red Mansions. If you can memorize these twelve pieces of music and then carefully appreciate the plot of The Red Mansion, you will find that Master Cao's kung fu is truly extraordinary. Let’s get back to the matter of looking at each other. "Wan Ning Mei" tells the true meaning of love that is destined but not separated in the world. It is no wonder that as soon as this song came out, it attracted countless literati to start from themselves and the love affairs around them to find out who had fallen in love with each other in the red building. For lovers, it is easy to fall in love with anyone. But for the public readers, Baoyu and Daiyu are truly worthy of the description in "Wang Ning Mei". It goes without saying that "one is the immortal flower of Langyuan, and the other is the flawless jade." Especially after the appearance of Lin Daiyu played by Chen Xiaoxu on TV, the love between Bao and Dai was almost aroused, and it also comforted countless people in the world who had longed for lovesickness but had no success. In fact, Bao Dai fell in love with each other the first time they met. When Miss Lin first met Baoyu, she was aloof and a little inferior. He was from a rich family and hung out with girls all day long. Therefore, in Miss Lin's mind, Baoyu was "somewhat kind of lazy person"! But when she saw Baoyu, she was surprised and thought to herself, "It's so strange, it looks like something I've seen there before. It looks so familiar!" This strangeness and familiarity was the beginning of Sister Lin's heartbeat. Baoyu has always been attracted to girls. He said, "I have seen this sister before." "Looking kind-hearted, but feeling like we are reunited after a long separation." This is a little trick to please girls. But did the judge remember that when he heard Daiyu say sourly about the piece of jade, he violently removed the piece of jade and smashed it on the ground? If it wasn't love at first sight, how could there be such an extreme move! So Miss Lin and Baoyu really have their eyes on each other. But there are so many things that meet the eye in the world. From young and beautiful to gray-haired, from stunning to pleasing to the eye, not every couple who are destined to meet can do it, let alone the love between a boy and a girl. Love is born from love. As the saying goes, it depends on both men and women to add firewood together to make it more and more prosperous. Baoyu basically belongs to the kind of person who falls in love with someone when they meet him. You can see in The Red Mansion that he dislikes and even hates many people outside the female world, but you can't find a single word about his dissatisfaction with any girl. In today's terms, there is too much makeup. His rosy love philosophy is to let him devote all his energy to all the girls "in vain". When a girl with unusual life experience and appearance appears, it is inevitable that Baoyu will fall in love with her. For ordinary girls, this sissy devil is at least ten thousand times better than a real devil like Xue Pan. But Daiyu was not satisfied. After all, Miss Lin has read some serious books and has a very rich spiritual world. She is so rich that she wants others to agree with her all day long. To be fair, Lin Daiyu is a bit autistic. She often repeats a few thoughts over and over again, and her words revolve around the theme in her heart, but she always misses the point. So Cao Xueqin said that although she had a romantic relationship, "how can you end up with lies"? Love is a private thing. You always sigh and shed tears from the outside, asking others to understand your life experience and feelings. When others say something, you will reverie and cry, "It's all in vain" (sigh in vain). In that era, there was no freedom in marriage. Baoyu was supposed to be betrothed to Baochai, and if you didn't fight for it, of course you would have no choice but to frown in vain. The last time Baoyu and Daiyu frowned ended with a silly smile (96 chapters). Although they were all smiles, Baoyu's smile was a real giggle. He thought that the person he would marry soon was really the sister Lin in front of him. Lin Daiyu pretended to smile because she already knew that Baoyu would marry Baochai, she knew that she would lose someone who understood her, and she even despised Baoyu for being just a commoner. She might also have a premonition that she would not die soon, but at this time she could only use a relatively silly smile to explain her in vain! Therefore, the eyebrow-raising drama in Red Mansion can only end with "One is the moon in the water, and the other is the flower in the mirror. How many tears can there be in the eyes, how can they prevent autumn from flowing to winter, and spring to summer!" In fact, Cao Xueqin's word "in vain" appeared early in those twelve songs, which shows that the master never thought of letting these enemies achieve justice! It's a pity that this cruel stroke of genius has brought many tears of pity and pity in future generations! Thanks to the theory of Ningmei in vain. If it were written that Bao and Dai got married and had children, and from then on the pink and white would not be wiped off, the poems would not be filled in, and the pots and pans would be seen in the sky, I am afraid that the Dream of Red Mansions would have been turned into a pile of ashes, and there would be no thoughts for future generations.
