The former Jiang family, this small village on the edge of the Nen River, was also buried in the torrential floods and disappeared forever from the earth. However, it is still there in my heart, because it has the mark of my youth and many bitter and warm memories there.
In the late period of the Cultural Revolution, in order to clean up the mess that was almost out of control, the great leader not only drove tens of thousands of students to the countryside, but also worked hard and proposed that state civil servants should also go to the countryside to follow the so-called May 7th Road. So glorious
In 1998, a flood occurred in the Nenjiang River at the junction of Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Many villages along the river were swallowed up by the flood.
>, my family has been involved in both cases.
In early 1970, after my eldest brother and I stayed in the educated youth camp for two years, my mother, who was the accountant in charge of a tractor repair shop, was designated as a May 7th soldier. One person has five or seven, and the whole family is glorious. My father and the four of us, my brother and sister, who had not yet reached a final conclusion on the historical issue, all benefited from my mother's influence. The whole family of six was arranged to join the queue and settle in Xiaotun?#21069;Jiangjiatun on the edge of the Nenjiang River.
Originally, the Zhennan sheep farm where my home is located is not a city, but it is not a real countryside either. What is a countryside like? How will we live there? The whole family, adults and children, are very worried.
Before moving, my mother and I made a special trip to Qianjiangjiatun as a first stop.
The March wind in the northeast was biting. We, mother and son, got up early and took the train to the county seat. There we boarded the long-distance bus. After a bumpy ride for several hours, we arrived at the commune where Qianjiangjiatun was located. We walked for more than two miles before arriving at Qianjiang’s house.
This small village faces south and is built on the southern slope of a hillock. There are more than 20 households, divided into two rows, front and back, forming a small street running from east to west, neat and clean.
In the middle of the village is the seven-room production team headquarters made of red bricks with doors and windows painted sky blue. In those days, we didn’t talk much anymore. The team headquarters was no longer called the team headquarters, but was renamed Mao Zedong Thought University School. According to the accent of the local folks, "大学" means the second tone of "xiao", so the big school has become the "大xiaoxiao". This "big school" is spacious, bright and very grand. There is a flagpole erected in front of the "Daxiao School", and there is a basketball court in front of it. Although the wooden basketball stand is not very standard, it feels warm in my heart to still have such a thing in such a small village.
We found the captain Shen Fu without much trouble. Shen Fu was only in his fifties, and his head was "barren of grass" and he was shining brightly. Even though he was less than 1.6 meters tall, his body was overflowing with male hormones. His wife gave birth to twelve children, some of whom were less than two years apart, and their bodies were all over the bed. Shen Fu's wife is tall, fair and plump, but her eyesight is bad. Whenever she eats, she can only count the monkeys and rabbits whether they are missing or not. If the elder is missing, she has to listen to the children's reports.
>Shen Fu's eyesight wasn't very good, and people in the village called him Blind Shen behind his back. Blind Shen is not actually blind, he just has a glass flower in his left eye. Whenever I look towards the sun, the eyes with the glass flowers will close, as if they are afraid that the flowers will melt in the sun.

Shen Fu was quite enthusiastic. He led us and my wife around the village, and finally entered the "Daxiao School". He said that our family would live in the "Daxiao School". The three rooms at the west end were specially opened for a separate door. The remaining four are also used as "big elimination schools", holding meetings and so on.
Wow! This "big elimination school" is spacious and bright, but it's the center of the village. It's so nice! Although there are many inconveniences due to frequent meetings in the four rooms next door, it is still a flaw. Originally, Shen Fu wanted to arrange lunch for us, but my mother declined. We had to walk 60 miles to the nearest train station and rush back the same day.

My mother and I bought two packs of biscuits at the commune supply and marketing cooperative and hurriedly hit the road. By the time we and I arrived at the train station exhausted, it was already past nine o'clock in the evening and we had missed the only train. We had no choice but to squat in the box office for half the night and didn't get home until the next day. My father and younger brothers and sisters were eagerly waiting for news about us. They also thought it was pretty good when they heard that the place we lived in was a "big elimination school".
But three days later, when our family moved to this small village in two open trucks, dragging our tattered belongings with us, the situation changed unexpectedly. Shen Fu told us that we could no longer live in the "Daxiao School", and we could only live in an abandoned pig farm under the mound in the north of the village. Shen Fu may also feel that what was promised has changed again, and it is not easy to say this. The left eye with the glass flower is always closed, as if the flower in the eye will melt away when we look at it. (Unfinished, to be continued)
