High school students can graduate two years early (Alberta Times) Students in Phoenix will be able to shorten their high school careers to just two years. This program is called "Move On When Ready" and is mainly provided to high-achieving students. After passing the new Cambridge International Examination Program in school, they can sign up for "Move On When Ready". "It's a very intense two-year program. They'll be taking a select class of classes," said Center High School teacher Susan Corrigan. After students complete selected courses in two years and pass the exam, they can receive a Grand Canyon diploma and then take college courses. School leaders believe the program will draw children's attention to school and help curb dropout rates. There are now 127 central high school students enrolled in the Graduation Ready program. Central High School is one of the schools in the Phoenix area implementing the program. This school year, 14 high schools across the state are running the program. They are: ASU Preparatory Academy High School (Phoenix), ASU Preparatory Academy High School – Polytechnic (Mesa), Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy – ASU West campus (Glendale), BASIS Schools, BASIS Scottsdale, BASIS Tucson, Dysart Unified School District, Marley Park Middle School (El Mirage), Nadaburg Unified School District, The Academy at Desert Oasis (Surprise), Phoenix Union High School District, Central High School, Metro Tech High School., Yuma Union High School District, Cibola High School, Gila Ridge High School, Kofa High School, San Luis High School, Yuma High School.
