Maricopa County police seized drugs, guns and arrested three illegal immigrants in Avondale on Monday. One of the men was deported in 2009 after being convicted of felony shoplifting and drug use. Three suspects are illegal in Maricopa County. During the operation, agents discovered 4.4 pounds of cocaine, four AK-47 rifles and an AR-15 pistol. Police have contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to try to determine the source of the gun. “This is another crime following Sunday’s arrest of an illegal foreigner suspected of kidnapping and controlling local women for prostitution,” Chief Apao said. In view of the increasingly rampant crimes committed by illegal immigrants, Maricopa County Police will continue to enforce federal and state immigration laws and protect the rights of legal residents.
