The moment Wang Xuan arrived at the end of the Venice Beach Pier in Los Angeles

Wang Xuan, a Chinese student studying in the United States, set off from the Statue of Liberty in New York on June 8. After 89 days of arduous hiking, he traveled across 13 states in the continental United States, covering a total distance of more than 3,000 miles. Arriving at the Venice Beach Pier in Los Angeles on the west coast of the United States at 12:35 pm on September 4, 2011, he became the first Chinese in history to complete a walk across the United States. The local Chinese and overseas Chinese in Southern California and the major news media in Southern California witnessed this historical moment together.
