Comprehensive news from this newspaper: The "Occupy Wall Street" movement continued to spread in many cities across the United States on the 13th. Many protesters who camped in the park were forcibly removed by the police because they failed to comply with the curfew that closed the park. Dozens of "Occupy Portland" protesters ignored the mayor's order and continued to stay in the camp established in the park on the 13th. Police quickly entered the camp near noon and drove the protesters away into the streets. Portland police said about 50 people were arrested during the afternoon crackdown. Witnesses pointed out that the police also used loudspeakers to warn the public that anyone who refused to comply with the regulations would be arrested. Portland Mayor Sam Adams previously ordered the protestors' encampment to close before midnight on the 12th, citing sanitation issues and the infestation of vermin and thieves in the park. Hours after the police raid, more protesters began to arrive, with numbers rising throughout the afternoon. Hundreds of police officers armed with batons stood shoulder to shoulder to block the protesters' advance. During the confrontation throughout the night, the number of people once reached thousands; the riot police gradually withdrew at dawn in the morning, and most of the onlookers also went home. However, the protesters who had camped in two parks in Portland since October 6 are still at the scene. Occupy actions in other cities also included the arrest of 19 people by Salt Lake City police. There are about 150 protesters in the city who have been camping in the park for several weeks. In addition, during the "Occupy Albany" action in the New York State capital, 24 protesters were arrested for not complying with the 11 p.m. closure of state parks. In Denver, authorities forced protesters to leave a park, and two protesters even attacked police in the process.
