Days are numbered this year to enter Grand Canyon National Park from the North Slope in November. The state Department of Transportation will close state Route 67 between Jacobs Lake and the North Slope starting Nov. 28. Heavy snowstorms often occur on this section of the road in winter, and the Ministry of Transportation has not arranged for manpower to clear the snow. The North Slope of the Grand Canyon is expected to reopen in mid-May next year.
